Chaos To Order: Watercolor Workshop with Nationally Known Artist Kathleen Conover

Starting a painting with color, texture, gestural marks and layers may seem like “chaos,” but it delivers vital energy that is both fun and intuitive. Great design and composition are the elements that bring “order” to the rich start and turn your painting into an attention-getting and expressive finish.

Reception: Paint-Out Exhibition

Paint Out Reception, Latrobe Art Center

Come to our public reception at Latrobe Art Center to meet the Paint-Out Artists and view this gorgeous show of artwork painted en plein air throughout various locations in Latrobe!

The paintings are on display now through Thursday, July 19, 2018.

The Paint-Out artists are a group of local artists who painted favorite Latrobe locations en plein air—a French term meaning “in the open air”—at the end of June 2018.

Plein air art is about leaving the walls of an artist’s studio to experience painting, drawing, etc. in the landscape. This method was made into an art form by the French Impressionists and their desire to paint light and its changing qualities.
