Champion Of The Arts- The Rainforest: May 1-19

Get Ready... Get Set... Start Creating
Calling All Artists, All Ages, With Disabilities...

You are invited to exhibit your artwork for the 2017 Champion of the Arts Spring Exhibit. Latrobe Art Center will be hosting the event.

This years theme will be "The Rainforest". Each student is allowed to submit ONE ENTRY. 2D & 3D artwork is encouraged. Please pay close attention to the entry deadlines. 


Sponsored by Westmoreland Intermediate Unit Foundation and Hosted by Latrobe Art Center. 

Art Supplies, Sizes, Restrictions

Each District is responsible for their own art supplies, No size restrictions, Two-Dimensional (2D) and Three-Dimensional (3D) artwork will be accepted. 

Submitting Work

April 6, 7, 2017 10am-5pm
April 8, 2017 10am-3pm

Please deliver the student’s artwork to Latrobe Art Center, 819 Ligonier Street, Latrobe PA 15650 by the due dates listed. If you have a conflict with the dates, please call the Center 724-537-7011 to make other arrangements. 

Scheduling A Field Trip

Field Trip Dates: May1-19th 9am-4pm

Teachers are encouraged to bring their students on a field trip to the Latrobe Art Center.
The two hour program starts with a gallery tour, followed by story time, a take-home art project, and interactive scavenger hunt and a sweet treat from Latrobe Dairy Queen

Judging The Exhibits
Judging Winner Notification Date: Wednesday April 12

Teachers will be notified of the winners to make sure they attend the artist reception to receive their award. If the winners cannot attend, the certificate will be mailed to them. 

Save The Date!! - Parents & Friends Day- Award Ceremony
Saturday, April 29th  11am-2pm

It will be a fun family day. Join us for live music, face painting, balloon making, caricatures, arts + crafts, food vendors, and more. Ricolita’s will be open for purchases. Post card invites will be mailed and an email will be sent.
