Lee Klingenberg graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1956 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following his discharge, he graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and then attended the Art Center College of Design located in Pasadena, California. When Lee finally returned to Pittsburgh in 1963, he spent the next 45 years working as a graphic designer in the field of corporate advertising and sales promotion. During his commercial career, Lee's reputation as an award-winning watercolorist also grew and today many of his paintings are held in private and corporate art collections. Besides recreational painting, his commissioned works include: Animal and House Portraits, College Campus Scenes, Favorite Family Vacation Retreats, and Executive Retirement Gifts.
Lee Klingenberg's exhibit of his watercolors cover a wide range of places in Europe, Canada, Bermuda, and points of interest on the east coast from Maine to New Jersey. Animal portraits, still life paintings, and caricatures will round out this exhibit.
Opening Reception will be held at the Latrobe Art Center from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday evening, November 10th. Free to the Public.
Show runs November 10, 2016 thru January 7, 2017. Gallery hours are 10am to 5pm Monday thru Friday and 10am - 3pm on Saturdays. Closed Sundays. For detailed information please call 724-537-7011.
