Music has always been a love of mine ever since I was little. Two things I loved more than anything. . . .art & music. They go hand in hand. My mother has many recordings of me singing Madonna songs into my hair brush, or my fake microphone!!!!
So when I need a little "pick me up" I have certain playlists that I listen to that make me feel better. My morning routine consists of playing these CD's as loud as I can while I get ready for work. Then driving to work, I do the same thing. I play the music as loud as I can and I sing my heart out as I drive down Ligonier Street.
Now...keep in mind....I do lower it for when I drive by the Latrobe Elementary School & Children, and sometimes when I get closer to work. . . depending on the mood!!
This morning the sun was shining, the sky was clearing, and I was feeling happy and good inside. So I cranked it up. As I went further into town, I decided to just keep on singing!!!!!
As I pulled into my parking spot and was gathering my things, the dear sweet meter maid was walking up the street!!
She said, "Good Morning! I just heard you rocking out at the stop light over there!" she pointed. "I heard the music and wondered where it was coming from and there you were, singing away, all into your music."
I laughed and said "Well, it's the best way to start your day! I do it first thing in the morning on your way to work and on the way home from work. It's excellent therapy and it puts you in a good mood. You should try it sometime!"
"Well, I almost started dancing with you next to your car, but then I thought....nooooo....." She replied.
I said, "YES! YOU SHOULD HAVE!!!! I WOULD HAVE JOINED RIGHT IN!! NEXT TIME I SEE YOU, I'm rolling the window down and we are dancing together!!"
She laughed and said "OK that sounds like a plan!"
As she walked up the street, and I crossed the street....I yelled to her...."DANCE!!!! DON'T FORGET!!! HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!"
As I walked into work I realized, it truly is the little things in life that can make you the happiest. This set my tone for the rest of the day!
Sometimes you just gotta shut up and dance the happy dance!
