Latrobe Art Center's Week of Kindness

  • Latrobe Art Center 819 Ligonier Street Latrobe, PA, 15650 United States (map)

Partner with Latrobe Art Center and the Fred Rogers Center, and spread kindness and creativity throughout Westmoreland County during the art center's second annual Week of Kindness!

From May 16-23, Latrobe Art Center is seaking to spread intentional acts of kindness throughout the community ending with Pennsylvania's own designated day of kindness (1-4-3 Day) inspired by the life and legacy of Fred Rogers. Using specially designed "You've Been Fred Roger-ed" cards, create a ripple effect of kindness, and share some much needed joy and hope with your loved ones and fellow community members.

Here's how it will work:

  1. Anyone seeking to spread kindness will pick up a specially designed "You've Been Fred Roger-ed" card at any partnering location. (There’s even a card designed specifically for kids!!!)

  2. Using that card, the person, business, or organzation will perform an act of kindness, capture the moment, and share it with us on social media with the hashtag, #YouveBeenFredRogered.

  3. That person, business, or oganization will then leave their "You've Been Fred Roger-ed" card behind that contains instructions for the recipient of the act of kindness to perform an act of kindness of their own for someone else!

  4. The card will continue to be passed along throughout the community and create a ripple effect of kindness!

It's that simple!

Printable kindness cards can be accessed by clicking the link below, or you can pick up copies at Latrobe Art Center, the Latrobe Medicine Shoppe, Eclectique, Rose Style Shoppe, Chicora's, or Adams Memorial Library!

AND join us for a special celebration of kindness and exhibit closing event on Saturday, May 21st from 3-5 p.m. here at Latrobe Art Center in partnership with Fred Rogers Center!

Pick up your “You’ve Been Fred Roger-ed” cards at the art center or any partnering location starting May 11th, and join us in spreading kindness on May 16-23!

“What does kindness look like?”

The prompt above was received by our member artists at Latrobe Art Center prior to the event. In response, they created the pieces below representing what they believe kindness looks like!
