Art 101 for High School Students

Grades 10-12 (ages 15-18)

Thursdays, September 17, 24, October 1, 8, 15, and 22

6 – 8 p.m.

These six art classes will introduce students to the use of three basic mediums—drawing pencils, color pencils, and pastels—to develop technique-based drawing and art skills that will promote confidence and creativity with personal self-expression through the art process. This class is designed for students 15 years of age through adulthood who have a unique desire to learn basic art skills and techniques in the creation of “artistic expression.”  Students will also have the ability to experiment with a variety of media. Recommended for homeschool students looking to fulfill an art requirement.

Materials needed: one sketchbook (12”x18”) of good paper quality. All other materials will be provided.

Note: Class sizes will be limited and safety guidelines will be met by Latrobe Art Center staff. All students must wear masks and sign our COVID-19 waiver.
